Think, Plan & Do

Good Evening, I'm glad to you all are here. I have been pondering what to write about these last few months, I have started a couple of post but nothing worked.  I've had so many things to attend to one of the major ones being my son now entering his final year of high school and preparing for  4 year college which is very time consuming and detailed, he is also dual enrolled in the local Community College since last summer and all year, yes it is a lot.  Along with that planning my next business venture, etc.,  but here I am missing you and wanting to stay consistent in giving you helpful information.

Today is so awesome. I am happy with a mentee who just hired his first contracted commissioned employee. As a small business entity you want to keep cost to a minimum so hiring an independent contracted employee his obligation is at a minimal and the amount of income his staff earns is based totally on self performance.

We are right in the middle of summer which is the month most people become the laziest. We have had this discussion before, don't let this be you. The next season is the reaping season of fall but you must have planted, nurtured, tilled and plowed in the 3 previous seasons to have an abundant crop that will carry you through the soon to come winter months.

Last week two major super star entrepreneurs visited my neighborhood and brought the area to a stand still.  Jay-Z and Beyonce' performed at the Fed-Ex Field (Redskins stadium) for 2 nights. It was amazing to know the level of power they have garnered as a power team.  The Redskins stadium holds 82,000 fans and they sold out minus about 100 seats both nights.  Despite the rumors the seats were priced from about $60 up to $700+. So yes there were expensive seats, but there was a price range for everyone.  I want to use these two in the lesson today, because they are both from everyday families for our generation.  The fact that they have in about a little over 20 years learned to use their passion for music and the entertainment industry to do what they love, and  build mega wealth and generational foundation of success is what this blog is all about.

I know that they had these tickets sold because I went to the website to see if you could purchase or if they had sold out and from this video you can see it was real.  I was in the traffic of it and it was real.  However, you don't just get from 0 to 100 real quick or you can't be nothing or nobody and then wham- bam overnight you are selling out football arena's, but what you do is you think, plan, and do whatever it takes.

The story behind Jay-Z’s private jet is quite enviable

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are officially a billion-dollar couple after Forbes put their combined worth at $1.16 billion. The duo's musical partnership during their "On the Run" tour in 2014 grossed more than $100 million in ticket sales. Beyoncé and Jay-Z reportedly made $4 million for every "On the Run" performance.

In 2018 the couple will be reuniting on stage again. On The Run II tour was announced quite recently and, no doubt, tickets for the shows will be in huge demand.

But a successful musical career is not the only source of the well-being of the power couple. Jay-Z expanded his business ambitions beyond rap records.
Together, the Knowles-Carters hold "significant equity" in the music-streaming service Tidal, which is reportedly worth $600 million. Jay Z owns the 40/40 Club in New York, an upscale sports bar and lounge, Roc Nation, Armand de Brignac champagne brand, and an entertainment company, which manages artists like Rihanna, Shakira, and Meek Mill.  According to Forbes, most of the Jay-Z’s wealth comes from his entertainment company, Roc Nation.
Beyonce, the most nominated woman in Grammy Awards history, does not depend on her husband financially at all. She runs a successful fashion brand and a vegan meal delivery service. And even if Jay-Z could not afford a high-end lifestyle, he could rely on Beyonce. She is known for her luxurious gifts to her husband. On his 41st birthday, she gave him a $2 million (£1,535,000) Bugatti Veyron Grand.
But one of the most impressive gifts he received for Father's day in 2012, shortly after the birth of the couple’s first child, Blue Ivy.
While most dads are forced to console themselves with the thought that the main thing is not a gift but attention, Jay-Z received the highest approval of his role as a father.

Beyoncé bought him a brand new $40 million jet, a Bombardier Challenger 850 to be exact.

Bombardier began delivering the Challenger 850 in 2006. It features the same airframe and engines as the company’s CRJ200 airliner, but with an interior outfitted for 27, 32, or 50 passengers in commuter configuration or 14 to 16 in executive. Beyoncé bought a larger plane which can seat up to 16 people so that they could take trips with their extended family.

The Challenger 850 has a flash interior including a cream leather living room, a kitchen, a spacious bedroom and two bathrooms. The purchase made in 2012 came just in time for the first joint tour of musical tycoons, which took place in 2014, and will clearly be used intensively during their new world tour.

Flying high to the sky perhaps inspired Jay-Z to turn his attention to the possibilities of investment in aviation. Along with the members of the Saudi royal family, the rapper and businessman is one of the main investors of JetSmarter, a members-only mobile marketplace for shared and private charter flights. Basically, the app makes booking a private jet — or a seat on one — as easy as booking a ride with Uber.

JetSmarter was founded in 2012 by entrepreneur Sergey Petrossov, whose idea made him one of Forbes' "30 Under 30" business leaders of 2016. Tiered membership costs range from $5,000 to $15,000.

Decorated with his real name monogram - Shawn Carter - on the aircraft body, Jay-Z’s private jet serves as a perfect mobile office for him as well. With his dynamic lifestyle, it is difficult to imagine him sitting in a room in some business center. He uses time on board to discuss plans with his business partners from Roc-A-Fella records or entertainment company Roc Nation.

And of course, the aircraft is indispensable for travel with a large family. Constantly moving between an $88 million mansion in Bel Air, a $4 million private island in the Bahamas, and the Dominican Republic, where the couple often spends time at the $ 19.5 million 35,000-square-foot Casa de Campo Real Estate, it's hard to rely on regular flights.

This post ends here, there is no more to say today.

To your success,
DS Woodard

How to get Government Contracts, Quickly.

Great Evening High Achievers!!  There are 3 days left in this last quarter of 2023.  We made it, and we are going to be even greater in 2024.  This was a trying and a wonderful year for our business.  We have cried and laughed as we learned from trial and error how to get things done.  There are more lessons to learn and more opportunities to take advantage of.  I want to share with you a few things about getting your business out of the rat race and into the government contracting place.   Do you know what M.B.E.'s, W.B.E.'s, V.B.E.'s, D.B.E.'s, and A.C.D.B.E's are?  No this is not Sesame Street.  These letters stand for Minority Business Entity, Women Business Entity, Disadvantaged Business Entity, and Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Entity.  This is how the government classifies different types of businesses for their sponsored programs.  The statistics for the amount of contracts awarded to these entities ar...

How Do You Spell Love? Time !

Good Morning High Achievers!  The holiday season is here and spending time is so important especially now.  Happiness is an inside job.  The main reason for being great and creating a legacy is so that you leave great memories and traditions to pass from generation to generation.   This year my family and I began a new tradition for what others call Thanksgiving.  We haven't celebrated in a few years, since finding out that what we thought was the reason was not true, but we still continued to gather, now we have decided that what we would like to do is travel for this holiday, since the rest of society is closed at the same time.   As a business owner and a person who works in corporate America I've found that we can get so caught up in the everyday hustle and bustle routine that we forget to pause, relax and enjoy the fun parts in life.  We don't know how much time we have and it doesn't matter what our age is.  These are my gra...

Are You Doing Too Much? How Do You Know?

From my I-Phone  Greetings High Achievers!! It is the middle of the summer season.  It has been such a hot summer, yet I still find time to get out and walk daily.  The photo to the left is of a flock of geese crossing the lake that we walk across.  I wanted to share this for two reasons, one it's beautiful and two every photo on the internet costs money.  I understand that people like to get paid, but there was a time I could get quality photos with a few clicks.  Well what's been going on in your business world?   I have been building a few things as usual.  Many times I think I'm doing too much.  Often I think I'm not doing enough.  As soon as I think that one of my business partners decides that they want to be so active and push the business along for five minutes, and then I'm on my own again.  Have you had times of  discouragement in your business endeavors?  I'm sure we all have.  This past year I have fo...
