Procrastination the killer of Dreams

Good morning, it's a great day and the month is moving along.  It's May and a month shy of the mid-year check.  This post is to remind those who say they want to create for their generational legacy.

What are you waiting for?  I speak with those who keep making excuses.  I speak with those who say I need this, or I need that.  I can tell you that yes they could use those things to get their dream off the ground and running, but I will also tell you that every excuse was created in a classroom of doubt and fear starting in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.

I fit the same category.  I often put things off and find reasons not to move forward.  I am always coming up with a new idea and if it doesn't take off quickly, I get bored or lose interest.  I have often jumped back and forth in and out of working for a company to generate fast cash, which seems to always end with me being a little farther behind then when I started, which means I waste precious time, however I'm always smarter.  Know this:
  1.  You're going to make mistakes.
  2.  You should learn from them.
  3.  Don't take yourself too seriously, lighten up have fun on your journey.

So back to our lesson for this week.  I just finished watching this movie with my sister you may have heard of it, it's called "Hidden Figures," A Disney movie.
The thing that captivated me the most was not just that these three women were the actual people behind the success of the U.S. space program, but that it took 55 years for anyone to know this. I'm not one who spends time watching movies or television, but I'm so glad my sister had me to watch this with her.  These women were genius and the movie being a Disney movie was toned down from how I'm certain they were actually treated.  Despite that they were phenomenally instrumental in creating history, which they took or were given zero credit for until now.  The massive numbers of lives that would have been different in our current generation had this been public knowledge and taught in schools across the world would be completely mind boggling. One of our nieces who is currently in her second year of College and a math major had no idea of this information until we all were sitting there watching through to the end.

I'm saying all of this to say once again, how long do you need to be great?  How long do you need to live your dream?  These women all were living their dreams, even though it was for someone else's ultimate glory, NASA, they lived and fought to do what they loved and that is why they were so successful.

This is your mission, otherwise you will come to your golden years with nothing but regrets, and you will likely end up the greeter at Walmart or Costco.

I'm just saying, get going and push hard for what you really love.

Yes you may have to jump in and out of working for a j.o.b. (just over broke) temporarily, but plan your exit strategy so that when you are ready to make your next step towards your dreams and goals you're not lost or caught off guard.  Make sure you live each day, week, month and hopefully not years as if you're going to get fired from your job and you need to have a contingency plan.
Don't wait until this happens or you end up starting from Scratch If you didn't watch the Martin clip you don't get it.
It's May get going now!!!

To your success,

D.S. Woodard

How to get Government Contracts, Quickly.

Great Evening High Achievers!!  There are 3 days left in this last quarter of 2023.  We made it, and we are going to be even greater in 2024.  This was a trying and a wonderful year for our business.  We have cried and laughed as we learned from trial and error how to get things done.  There are more lessons to learn and more opportunities to take advantage of.  I want to share with you a few things about getting your business out of the rat race and into the government contracting place.   Do you know what M.B.E.'s, W.B.E.'s, V.B.E.'s, D.B.E.'s, and A.C.D.B.E's are?  No this is not Sesame Street.  These letters stand for Minority Business Entity, Women Business Entity, Disadvantaged Business Entity, and Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Entity.  This is how the government classifies different types of businesses for their sponsored programs.  The statistics for the amount of contracts awarded to these entities ar...

Are You Doing Too Much? How Do You Know?

From my I-Phone  Greetings High Achievers!! It is the middle of the summer season.  It has been such a hot summer, yet I still find time to get out and walk daily.  The photo to the left is of a flock of geese crossing the lake that we walk across.  I wanted to share this for two reasons, one it's beautiful and two every photo on the internet costs money.  I understand that people like to get paid, but there was a time I could get quality photos with a few clicks.  Well what's been going on in your business world?   I have been building a few things as usual.  Many times I think I'm doing too much.  Often I think I'm not doing enough.  As soon as I think that one of my business partners decides that they want to be so active and push the business along for five minutes, and then I'm on my own again.  Have you had times of  discouragement in your business endeavors?  I'm sure we all have.  This past year I have fo...

You Have to Know When it's Time !

Hey High Achiever's.  I love you all and love sharing advice with you.  I have tried for more than a year to get Google to allow me to monetize this platform.  I'm not sure what I am not doing correctly, but I have shared for 15 years.  Unless I figure out the code, this channel will be shut down this year 2024.  I will give you the information to follow me on a new platform soon.  Thank you for your support.   To Your Success, D.S.
